Preheat the oven to 180C.

Bring two saucepans of salted water to the boil.

Halve and de-stone the plums.

Heat some olive oil in a pan over high heat.

Add the plums to the pan and cook until slightly softened.

Transfer the plums to a baking dish.

Add the plum sauce, cinnamon stick, star anise and char sui sauce to the baking dish, stir well to combine.

Season the duck breasts lightly with salt and pepper on both sides.

Add the duck breast, skin side down, to the pan and sear until the skin is golden-brown and crisp.

Turn the duck breasts and sear the other side.

Transfer the duck breasts to the baking dish, stir to coat in the sauce.

Cover the baking dish with a lid and place in the oven to cook (approximately 15 minutes).

Add the rice to one of the saucepans of boiling water and cook until al dente. (11-12 minutes).

Add the edamame to the other saucepan and cook (approximately 5 minutes)

Remove the lid and continue to cook until the plums have softened completely and the duck is cooked to your liking.

Drain both the rice and the edamame.

Distribute the rice and edamame among serving plates.
