    Bring a saucepan of salted water to the boil.

    Thinly slice the red onion and ginger.

  • 2.5 min

    Julienne the green capsicum, spring onion and carrot.

    Thinly slice the steak.

    Heat the oil over high heat in a wok.

  • 7.5 min

    Remove the boiling water from the heat. Add the noodles and cover. Set aside to cook (4-5 minutes).

    Add the ginger and red onion to the wok and stir fry until slightly softened.

    Add the carrot and stir fry until slightly softened.

  • 10.0 min

    Add the steak and stir fry until just browned (add a splash of water if the pan is too dry).

    Add the capsicum and stir fry until softened.

  • 12.0 min

    Stir through the black pepper sauce and soy sauce.

  • 12.5 min

    Drain the noodles.

  • 13.0 min

    Stir the noodles through the black pepper stir fry.

  • 14.5 min

    Distribute the noodle stir fry among serving bowls.

  • 16.0 min

    Garnish with spring onion.

I liked this dish but it was a bit salty. I'd cook it slightly differently, too. Not bad.

Overall good - generous proportions, nice veg/meat/pasta proportions. But we only used about 1/4 of the soy sauce and still it turned out a bit too salty, maybe because of the black pepper sauce, so I would recommend minimal salting of the pasta to balance that.
