Sesame Beef and Green Bean Stir Fry with Jasmine Rice

    Place a saucepan of salted water on to boil.

  • 0.5 min

    Cut the beef across the grain into very thin strips approximately 2 inches long.

    Chop the garlic, ginger and thinly slice spring onions.

    In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, peanut oil and sugar. Set aside.

    Heat the wok or frying pan on medium heat. Add half the olive oil.

    When the oil is hot, add the green beans.

    Stir-fry until their skins blister and they are tender.

    Add the rice to the boiling water.

    Remove the beans from the wok and set aside.

    Heat the remaining olive oil in the wok on high heat.

    Add the garlic, ginger and half the spring onions.

    Stir-fry for a few seconds, then add the dried chili flakes as desired.

    Add the steak to the wok.

    Add the soy and sugar mix.

    Stir fry until all the beef changes colour.

    Add the green beans and stir in the remaining spring onions.

    Drain the rice.

  • 21.0 min

    Remove the stir-fry from the heat and stir in the sesame oil and sesame seeds.

  • 21.5 min

    Distribute the rice amongst serving bowls and serve with a helping of the beef and bean stir-fry.
